The pilot project Roots of Tomorrow / Future of Tomorrow – Congo, in partnership with Collège Maman Odile in Kinshasa, aims to improve access to quality education for disadvantaged children, while strengthening teachers’ pedagogical skills and providing economic support to families.
Located in a peripheral neighborhood where many children face academic and financial barriers, this project combines educational, cultural, and economic activities to rekindle hope, encourage schooling, and promote sustainable solutions against poverty. Launched in August 2025, the initiative represents an essential step toward a replicable model of educational and community partnership in Congo.

Founded in 2018, Collège Maman Odile opened its doors to initially accommodate around 100 students, many of whom had never attended school or had dropped out due to lack of funds. Located in a suburb of Kinshasa (home to approximately 4,000 families), the school has significantly reduced the distances and risks associated with school travel.
Over the years, enrollment has grown to 170 students in primary school and 130 in secondary school. However, since the promoter’s retirement in 2022, parents’ financial difficulties have led to a decline in enrollment.

Discipline, Work, Success
The partnership between Avenir de Demain and Collège Maman Odile is part of a pilot project aimed at:
• Improving learning conditions for students

• Providing financial support to families in difficulty through a microfinance program
This partnership is based on direct interventions within the school, combining educational, cultural, and economic activities.
